This article aims to develop a proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzer emulator. emulator is realized through an equivalent electrical scheme. It allows taking into consideration the dynamic operation of PEM electrolyzers, which generally neglected in literature. dynamics are reproduced by use supercapacitors, due high value double-layer capacitance value. Steady-state and operations investigated this work. The design criteria addressed. validated using 400-W commercial electrolyzer. conceived test new DC-DC converters supply ELs their control as well, avoiding risk damage real for experiment purposes. proposed approach valid both single cell whole stack emulation.
